A love letter to that dreamy address.

Dear future home,

I searched tirelessly through local listings and felt discouraged by an endless stream of house tours – vacant homes making my heart feel…vacant. I didn’t think anything could check off all of the boxes for the perfect place to live.

But those feelings of doubt ended abruptly when I first laid eyes on you! Remember? I met with my trusty real estate agent outside and gazed up at the beautiful structure that will soon be called “home.” Oh, it was love at first sight.

“Honey, I’m home” I thought as I stepped through the front door and took a look around. I was instantly wooed by the comfortable ambience of the entryway. I could picture myself coming home from a long day at work, or a weekend adventure, tossing my coat on a hook, and gallivanting through the open-concept floorplan. I began imagining the memories yet to be made, gathered around the granite-topped island in the renovated kitchen with loved ones, or cooking meals with friends over the new gas-burning stove. My first impression was happy and hopeful – feelings I would embrace each and every day walking through that same front door.

Your crown moldings give me butterflies. Those resurfaced hardwood floors? Goosebumps. I’m smiling just thinking about the ample closet space.

When I walked through the door I just knew – this cluster of rooms with a roof overhead? This is no house. This is home.

With love, and a down payment,

Your proud future owner
